Early solar panels, based on glass crystalline technology, are typically fixed after the roof system has been installed, using a structural framework. This is often costly, slow to install, adds unwanted weight onto the roof and results in a solar panel system which imposes itself on the building.
Now, through partnerships with leading international solar system manufacturers, Bradclad are able to offer metal roof panels with an integrated thin film PV module –
Proseam Energi Roof
Unlike more conventional crystalline solar panels, Energi-Roof requires no framework or bracket system. The solar panels are not fitted to the roof – they are part of the roof.
Thin, flexible solar modules are factory laminated onto the Proseam standing seam panels to create an ultra-lightweight solar roof. With efficiency levels that match and can exceed its crystalline glass predecessors, Proseam Energi-Roof offers the building designer an integrated solar panel system that is sympathetic to his project, not imposed upon it.
